The objectives of WIN are;
- To spearhead, foster, encourage and promote the empowerment and well-being of women, youth and girl-children by means of counselling, mentoring, life coaching, life role models, training, education, advocacy and other forms of assistance programs to increase the beneficiaries’ positive mindset, focus, opportunities and ability to reach their full personal potential.
- To equip and resource women, youth and the girl child with information, skills and resources for dealing with rejection, discovering self-identity, building self-esteem and self-confidence, equipping for effective personal life goal setting, developing leadership and decision-making skills, equipping them with negotiation and conflict resolution skills, promoting self-care and wellness, advocating women empowerment awareness, capacitating public speaking skills and other life skills, personal or interpersonal skills, relationships management so that they can effectively advance their own rights and be equipped to effectively be empowered to take full responsibility of their lives, pursue their personal life goals, transform positively their lives and reach their full potential.
- To mainstream male, parents and guardians involvement, participation and engagement in the Trust’s general activities to sensitize them on gender, women, youth and girl child issues and work with them as strategic partners in championing women empowerment, youth empowerment, children rights and gender equality for their families and community for gender equity and sustainable community development.
- To advance, promote and protect the cause and rights of women, youth and the girl child as enshrined in various United Nations international human rights and regional instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Beijing Declaration and Plan of Action 1995, Millennium Development Goals, Maputo Protocol (Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa 2003) and International Convention on the Rights of the Child among many other progressive conventions.
- To highlight and harness the positive contribution of women and youth role models who have reached milestones in the social, political, community, economic, technical, legal, health and other sectors by providing a platform for them to mentor, coach and role model women, the youth and girl children.
- To strive for the elimination of all forms of exploitation, discrimination, and marginalising of women and the girl child by engaging men, women role models, women leaders, business leaders, community leaders, faith leaders, national leaders and other strategic influential partners, strategic bodies and decision makers.
- To recognise and celebrate the contribution of women to all aspects of national and community life thereby promote the dignity of womanhood, the general status and advancement of women, youth and the girl child.
- To research, identify and raise awareness of the causes and results of gender inequality within communities that participate in the Trust’s programs and sensitize them on the benefits of gender equality and women empowerment,
- To research and build a current body of knowledge on gender equality, women rights, women empowerment, children rights, youth issues, sustainable development issues to ensure effective programme outreaches, information sharing and effective fulfilment of organisational objectives
- To mobilize resources and build the institutional capacity of the Trust to effectively execute its mandate by training and sensitising trustees, staff and volunteers, branding and marketing the organisation, obtaining the necessary equipment, assets, resources networks to achieve all the objects of the Trust.
- To work collaboratively with community-based entities, faith-based entities, businesses, developmental agencies and Government ministries, to address common issues affecting women, girl children and the youth.
- To contribute to the drawing up of the national government and non-governmental organisations frameworks for the advancement of women, girl child and youth issues by partnering with local communities, faith bodies, developmental bodies and government agencies to challenge and address harmful gender inequality social norms that keep women, youths and girls from achieving their full potential.
- To organise community forums, church forums, school forums, service programs, civic education, research initiatives and training programmes on matters pertaining to the rights of women and children to achieve the above objects, as well as to address a wider range of associated issues including development issues and the legal framework with the aim of fostering gender equality, women empowerment, development, peace and harmony in our society.
- To carry out advocacy campaigns through various print and online media and platforms, targeting men, women, youths, girl children, leaders, government bodies, policy makers, regional and international blocs and related policy makers in order to influence change that leads to improved well-being for the girl child, youths and women.
- To network with other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other bodies having similar or complementary aims and objectives at the community, national, regional, and international levels, for the purposes of resource mobilization, information-sharing, advocacy and joint programme implementation.
